Grapevine and Nextdoor Foundation Launch $127.5K Initiative to Boost Beloved Local Nonprofits with Giving Circles

New York, New York – August 12, 2025 – Grapevine, the leading platform for Giving Circles, and the Nextdoor Foundation are proud to announce the launch of our Close the Gap campaign. This initiative will distribute $127,500, provided by the Nextdoor Foundation, to support grassroots Giving Circles on Grapevine and help them to make an even greater impact in 2025.

Through this campaign, eligible Giving Circles can receive up to $2,000 in matching funds to support local nonprofits with annual operating budgets under $2 million. These community-rooted nonprofits are often underfunded yet critical to local well-being, and this campaign empowers Giving Circles to do more to support the causes they care about most. Grant requests must be submitted by December 1, 2025.

In addition to matching funds, the campaign will award five bonus grants of up to $10,000 each to nonprofits demonstrating exceptional community impact. No separate application is required, any nonprofit that receives a Giving Circle grant with matching funds through the campaign will automatically be considered.

How to Participate

• Use Grapevine to host your Giving Circle and collect donations.
• Giving Circles must direct funds to nonprofits with annual operating budgets under $2M to be eligible.
• Matching funds of up to $2,000 will be distributed after grants are selected and if eligibility requirements are reached.
• Grant requests must be submitted by December 1, 2025.
• All eligible nonprofits receiving matching funds will automatically be in the running for a bonus grant of up to $10,000.

Grapevine and Nextdoor Foundation launched a partnership in 2024 to help more neighbors to connect and grow the greater good, together. We started with a campaign to help local community leaders to start Giving Circles within their neighborhoods across Los Angeles by providing them with a combination of training, support, and matching donations.
