Join Fashion Industry for Sustainability

Fashion is responsible for 10 percent of human-caused greenhouse gas emissions, 20 percent of global wastewater, and uses more energy than the aviation and shipping sectors combined (Columbia University, 2021). Join a community of professionals in the fashion and textile industry who are coming together to help change this. We can mitigate the impact of the industry by promoting and supporting sustainability in fashion. Fashion Industry for Sustainability (FIS) members gather each quarter to network, pool our collective donations, learn about nonprofits promoting sustainability, and vote on which ones to support together.

Andrea Pugnali

“At Aquafil, we are very committed to help the fashion and carpet industry to turn circular. Our ECONYL® regenerated nylon it’s exactly the same as brand new nylon and can be recycled, recreated and remolded again and again. That means you can create new products and buy new products without having to use new resources. I want to meet other professionals working toward the same goal.”

“I am a passionate humanitarian and environmentalist. I believe when it comes to fashion if you are buying fast fashion, someone somewhere is paying the human price for these clothes. The fast fashion industry has been a huge social justice issue for decades and I am all ways seeking new ways and knowledge to help shed light on this issue.”

“As a personal stylist I feel it is essential that I am aware and understand the impact of the fashion industry on our environment. I want to share this information with my clientele so they know they have options and a choice to choose a better option of clothing when they can.”
