Why I joined People Advancing Racial Equity
Drawing on her considerable experience, she excels as the executive director of Diversity in Health Training Institute, which aims to help immigrants and English as Secondary Learners pursue healthcare roles in the healthcare industry. Through Ms. Htaung's invaluable guidance, Diversity in Health Training Institute has more than doubled its revenue from $1 million to $2.5 million, a feat recognized with the California Department of Aging Grant within two years of her leadership. This grant, in turn, helped the organization triple their impact of training more than 170 bilingual caregivers and connect them with seniors who need home care assistance in the comfort of their homes and in their native language. Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, Ms. Htaung credits her success to her grit and perseverance. No matter what obstacles are in her way, she is not deterred from her goals. In the coming years, she intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career in both the Social Service and Healthcare sectors. Ms. Htaung's ultimate goal is to help vulnerable communities have access to basic needs and quality healthcare services.
