Why I joined Santa Rosa Women for Good
I love living in Sonoma County. Originally from the Bay Area, I moved to Santa Rosa in 2008 to raise a family. I came for the quality of life, and have stayed for the natural beauty, the small town feel, and the people. I feel a sense of belonging and connectedness here, that I never felt in my hometown.
Growing up, my mom and dad were always lending a hand in some capacity. My dad coached my sports teams and ran the Annual Superbowl pool fundraiser for the Dad's Club, among many other efforts. My mom was Mother's Club President and class mom volunteer too many years to count. They firmly established a belief in me that Community is a team sport.
In 2017, when my family lost our home and all of our possessions in the Tubbs Fire, the community showed up for us in a way that has stayed with me ever since. I've always been a doer, following my parents example. But
being a part of SRWG allows me to have a much greater impact on the needs of my community and pay it forward.
