Why I joined Alexandria Women for Good
Hi everyone! Erika here - an Alexandria native looking to give back to my community. I just launched my own PR/communications consulting firm, Daylit Consulting, and I've served on various Community Boards in the area including Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, the Junior League of Northern Virginia and others. I've worn many hats—from helping a Congressman navigate pandemic communications to mentoring young professionals and breathing new life into awards programs—and now I'm taking my own health journey and turning it into something bigger by laying the groundwork to start a nonprofit for chronic illness advocacy. I'm all about using my professional skills to make a real difference in our community, and I do it all with the philosophy my grandmother Day taught me: if you're going to do something, do it with a happy heart. I live in Old Town on King Street and would love to grab coffee!
