WHO WE ARE
We are a fundraising Giving Circle for The States Project focusing on the Pennsylvania State Legislature. Since 2020 we have raised over $170k from over 300 donors, helped flip the PA State House blue by ONE SEAT in 2022, and held that critical majority against multiple special elections and the Red Wave of 2024. We are a group of old and new friends who believe the most effective political dollars are spent at the state level…join us!
WHY STATES MATTER
With Trump dismantling federal protections, state legislatures are now the frontline of democracy. State legislatures:
- Control much of the laws that affect our daily lives like abortion access, voting rights, gun legislation, education policy, and so much more.
- Have the power to redraw congressional maps. As MAGA Republicans engage in congressional redistricting wars, states with a Democratic trifecta are able to go on the offensive.
- Can take on issues like sidelining Citizens United.
WHY THE STATES PROJECT
The States Project, a research-driven organization focused on changing the balance of power at the state level. State legislatures have been historically underfunded by Democrats while Republicans reaped the rewards on heavy investment. The States Project is the largest investor in state level races. They don't spread money around, they target only the races where it matters most. 100% of our donations go directly to fund these races. We've trusted their data-driven approach since 2020, and it's worked.
WHY PENNSYLVANIA
ImPAct the States supports Pennsylvania because it is a critical must win for democracy. Who controls Pennsylvania’s state government will have an outsized imPAct on national elections and the direction of the federal government.

In 2026, the impulse to donate will be everywhere, every Senate race, every congressional seat, every headline. And yes, they all matter. But your money is powerful in state elections in a way it simply isn't at the national level. It is often cheaper to change the balance of power in an entire state chamber than it is to win a single competitive congressional seat. $100 in a state legislative race goes further than $100 in a high-profile congressional race, it funds mailers, radio ads, and basic campaign infrastructure that can make or break a candidate. It takes a fraction of the money to flip a state seat, and those seats determine what actually happens in people's daily lives.
