About our group
We want to become more intentional in our family tzedakah practices, and we want to make a group donation to causes important to us. We also hope to share our experiences with other families.
Minyan Tzedakah: IKAR’s Family Giving Circle consists of ten
families with pre-bar-mitzvah-age children. We meet monthly to study texts about tzedakah,
discuss our family’s tzedakah practices, and decide where we as a group will
donate $3600. Our goals are for each family to become more intentional in its tzedakah-related activities (both financial giving and volunteering) and to have an impact on the organization(s) we support. We also hope, through writing and informal conversations, to share our experiences and lessons learned with others in the IKAR community, the Jewish community, and beyond.
