The BEAM

About our group

BEAM exists to support children who have been impacted by trauma, disability, and repeated school exclusion. We provide hands-on, relationship-centered academic tutoring paired with social-emotional support so students can build confidence, regulation skills, and academic endurance in ways that work for how they learn—not how the system expects them to.

We are fundraising to support BEAM’s summer tutoring program, which provides individualized, engaging instruction for students who cannot access or sustain traditional learning environments. Many of the students we serve have experienced disrupted schooling, shortened days, or learning gaps that widen over the summer without consistent support.
We are currently between grants and are raising funds to operate throughout the summer so we can continue offering small-group and one-to-one tutoring that is responsive, strengths-based, and developmentally appropriate. These funds will directly support staffing, materials, and programming that help students stay connected to learning, build skills, and enter the next school year with confidence rather than setbacks.
