Generations: A States Project Giving Circle
As mothers, daughters, family, and friends, we came together across generations with a shared purpose: to protect our democracy and our future by investing in state legislatures. Together, we raised over $10,000 to help defend the majority in the Pennsylvania House, proving that when we unite, we can make a real impact.
But our work is far from over.
With the devastating impact of the Trump presidency still unfolding, state legislatures remain the frontlines of the fight for our democracy, our rights, and our daily lives. That’s why we’re continuing our Giving Circle in 2025, this time with a focus on Early Money, the most effective way to shape election outcomes from the ground up.
Why States, and Why Now?
State legislatures are where:
✅ Democracy is protected or dismantled (from voting rights to election certification)
✅ Reproductive freedoms, gun safety laws, and public education policies are decided
✅ Future national leaders get their start, leaders who will shape the next decade of our country
With The States Project’s strategic insights, we’re directing our early funds where they will have the greatest impact. We started with Pennsylvania’s special election to protect the House majority (which we won!!) and we’re not stopping there.
This Fall, Virginia Is Critical
This November, Virginia represents the first major test ahead of the 2026 midterms and a key opportunity to show that the dangerous policies and rhetoric of Trumpism can and will be met with real electoral consequences.
A win in Virginia won’t just shift the balance of power. It will send a resounding message that the American people are engaged, mobilized, and ready to defend democracy at the ballot box. That’s why Virginia is our top priority this fall.
How Our Giving Circle Works
📚 Learn – We deepen our understanding of the power of state legislatures through resources and events from The States Project
🎯 Choose – Our funds are strategically directed to the most impactful races and long-term infrastructure to build power where it matters most
💡 Act – Every dollar we raise goes to work supporting candidates, campaign infrastructure, in-state partners, voter outreach, and media strategies
Join Us
We know this moment is daunting. But we also know that taking action, in community, is the most powerful antidote to despair. We’ve already proven what’s possible when we come together. Now, we need to go even further.
This fall, we’re planting seeds for lasting change by raising money for Virginia. Together, across generations, we can help protect democracy and shape the future.
