About our group
SVP Portland brings professionals and organizations together in partnership to address community challenges. As venture philanthropists, we mobilize talent, money, and influence for investment in nonprofits and collaborations. That’s how we create the capacity to address our most entrenched problems.
Our current goal is to ensure that all children—regardless of race, ethnicity, wealth, religion, gender, or zip code—have access to high-quality, culturally-relevant early learning experiences.
There are people who want to make a difference in our community, who want to see a more socially just Portland. But they aren’t convinced their donations really have an impact, and they don’t know how to share their skills and influence along with their dollars.
There are also people who have the vision, knowledge and approaches to change our community, to advance equity, to support communities who face the greatest barriers. But they need more resources to achieve their goals.
SVP brings these Portlanders together to work toward more enduring, significant change than anyone can achieve on their own. The whole is more than the sum of its parts.
It's a unique model for transformative community change , it's rewarding, and it's fun!
