HELP US GET TO $1,000 THIS MONTH!
Every month Lowcountry Action Committee volunteers deliver free groceries to 80 disadvantaged families in Charleston County as part of our Freedom Bag Food Drive. As a volunteer, I have seen firsthand how impactful this program is -- but the need is growing and they need our help! 💜
The Freedom Bag Food Drive drive hasn't missed a month since it's creation over 4 years ago -- but more and more families are signing up -- especially as many face additional hardship outside of food poverty, lose critical government benefits, and now must rely on programs like this to feed their family.
Lowcountry Action Committee (LAC) is a project of Lowcountry Arts Movement, and is an all-volunteer grassroots organization dedicated to liberation through service, political education, and collective action in the Lowcountry.
In addition to the Freedom Bag Food Drive, LAC leads programs focused on preserving Gullah Geechee culture, engaging and educating the youth, and connecting community members to critical resources.
