About our group
Wheelable Wilderness exists to make the outdoors genuinely accessible for people with disabilities (and the families/caregivers who love them).
Our purpose is to remove the real-world barriers that keep people from getting outside—things like lack of adaptive equipment, transportation, and truly accessible places to go—so folks can participate *repeatedly*, not just once.
What we do, in plain terms:
- Loan adaptive equipment for free (like trackchairs and other mobility/support gear), with delivery/pickup included
- Build and improve ADA+ accessible campgrounds and trails (designed to go beyond minimum standards)
- Run inclusive outdoor programs (adaptive hiking, fishing, peer mentorship, skills workshops, family-friendly events)
Our core belief is simple: “You belong out here.”
