About our group

Native Empowerment was born from a vision of hope and restoration — a vision first carried by our founder, RedCorn Gary Maloney (Bii’ohii).

While serving time in prison, RedCorn began what would become Native Empowerment, originally known as BOE — Balance Offers Empowerment. From behind prison walls, he envisioned a movement to help our people rise through sobriety, purpose, and cultural pride.

In his own words:

“Purpose, passion, and pride fuel my devotion toward sobriety.

I choose to rise above the predicted set of circumstances to enhance the next generation’s opportunities.”

RedCorn’s journey — from struggling with addiction and incarceration to rediscovering his cultural identity and helping others heal — became the foundation of everything we do.

Today, Native Empowerment continues that mission:

to honor our ancestors, restore balance, and empower individuals and families to Heal, Grow, and Thrive.

Our Mission

Empowering our people with hope and resources — building strong paths of Sobriety, Healing, and Meaningful Work.
