A States Project Giving Circle
About our group
We are working with The States Project to elect majority-making Democratic candidates who will shift the balance of power in a state legislature where the majority is in play. We can really make a difference at the state level on issues that really matter, including the right to choose, gun control and voting rights. We also believe there are legal tools at the state level that can hold ICE agents to account. Don't feel helpless or lament the current state of democracy: join us and spread the word so we can accelerate our impact.
With a rightwing trifecta at the federal level, state legislatures are our strongest line of defense. Compared to Trump's first term, when Democrats had seven state-level trifectas, today, Democrats hold fifteen, as well as either a chamber or the governor's mansion in twelve additional states. State lawmakers who are committed to improving lives can mitigate the worst of Trump's policies and secure a brighter future for our country.
The 2026 cycle has begun, and The States Project is hard at work. Money raised and sent to states early can jumpstart recruitment in key districts, help hire key staff early on, and even begin the work of voter contact – all tactics that become game-changing when implemented early.
The target states in 2026 are: Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. We will gather as a group to decide which of these worthy states should receive our funds for this cycle.
