This Giving Circle is designed to help donors better understand how the global equity conversations have evolved in India post COVID, and how donors can most effectively empower community leaders that address vulnerability across regions, caste, religion and identity. As you know, India is one of the most diverse democracies in the world that also has one of the widest income disparities world-wide. Like in so many places, the experience of COVID (which was extreme in India) shed new light on the urgent need for Indian society to address a range of different vulnerabilities. This Giving Circle will meet once a month from December to June to explore different models of community development throughout India .
This Circle will begin in December 2023 and will run through June 2024. This circle is co-chaired by Dasra and NEID Global member Farida Kathawalla. NEID membership is required to participate in a Giving Circle and each participant will ultimately be expected to contribute funds. NEID members will be asked to contribute a minimum of $1,200, while new-members are asked to first become NEID members and then contribute $1,000 to the Circle.
