About our group
The NC Music Love Army (NCMLA) is a volunteer-based community of independent, creative, musicians, promoters, venue owners, and supporters working to achieve a more equitable, just and sustainable North Carolina.
We are working with The States Project to break the supermajority currently held by Republicans in the North Carolina state legislature. Republicans were able to get a supermajority for one reason: NC House Dist. 112 Rep. Tricia Cotham switched parties only five months after being elected as a Democrat!
As a result, North Carolina's abortion rights have been restricted, laws making it harder to vote have been enacted, environmental protections have been eliminated, and millions in tax-payer dollars that should go to public schools have gone towards vouchers for private & religious schools with no accountability.
We will keep working to shift the balance of power in the legislature until it represents all North Carolinians!
