Our network started in Boston, but you don't have to be in Boston to join! Please check out our website!
Congratulations everyone! We successfully hit (and exceeded!) our 2022 goal of $100,000.
While all The States Project candidates were worthy of support in 2022, our Giving Circle chose to support candidates in North Carolina. Why? Blocking a supermajority in one chamber would protect Governor Cooper‛s veto power against an agenda that included abortion bans and anti-voter policies. We preserved enough seats to stave off a devastating rightwing victory, preventing a supermajority by just 315 votes! For more information, check out https://statesproject.org/state/north-carolina/.
And now we keep going. It is 2023. THERE ARE NO OFF YEARS. One of the best investments we can make is seeding the ground NOW for the next round of elections, raising funds for state legislature campaigns beyond our 2022 successes. See Results.
EARLY MONEY is key to:
• Recruiting and training candidates district by district - candidates who truly reflect the community they seek to represent
• Starting deep canvassing that most state legislative candidates cannot afford to do—knocking on every door
• Bringing on local staff to plan for upcoming campaigns
• Honing strategic communication tools that have proven to work
