About our group
When breast cancer showed up at my door, I wanted to pretend it wasn’t there.
I was terrified. Life no longer felt normal.
But I had to face it—and I did.
I pulled from every lesson life had taught me, every ounce of strength I had left, and I kept going.
As a woman in farming, I’ve always known what it means to plant hope, nurture growth, and fight for life even in the harshest seasons.
So out of my cancer journey, Cancer Bites was born—an initiative within our nonprofit, Growing to Give (G2G).
G2G builds community gardens, grows food forests, and fights hunger.
And now—through Cancer Bites—we support patients in treatment with care, connection, community, and dignity.
We deliver hope-filled gift bags.
We bring people together.
We make sure no one feels invisible while fighting for their life.
And the momentum is real.

- My own story, Surviving breast cancer and transforming it into connection, support, and purpose.
