About our group

Rachel’s Network, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is a community of women at the intersection of environment, philanthropy, and women’s leadership who exchange ideas and take action on our planet's urgent challenges. The network was founded in 1999, when 18 women joined forces around a shared commitment to conservation. Rachel’s Network is named in honor of Rachel Carson, who changed our understanding of the natural world with the 1962 publication of "Silent Spring."

Rachel’s Network members are activists, business and community leaders, foundation trustees, impact investors, and board directors. They give privately and through family, community, and institutional foundations to causes ranging from sustainable agriculture and toxics, to conservation and climate change. They share the conviction that together, they can help one another effect transformative change.

To deepen members’ understanding of the urgent environmental and philanthropic issues of the day, we offer program-rich annual gatherings, along with regional events and webinars on timely topics.

Since 2000, our network has collectively given over $2 million towards strategic partnerships, investing in women leaders at the frontlines of our movement and the solutions that secure a thriving planet for future generations. To join the network, visit rachelsnetwork.org/join.

We are women environmentalists who grant to projects led by women environmentalists.

Members give an annual, tax-deductible grant of $7,500 and can contribute through their foundation, donor advised fund, a personal check, or a stock gift. New members pay an introductory rate of $5,000 for their first year.
