A Giving Circle hosted by YouthRoots
About our group
YouthRoots unleashes the power of youth to change the world. We operate 6 giving circles (YouthBoards) in the Denver metro area annually. In each of these groups, 10-20 high schoolers passionate about making the world a better place come together to tackle their community's biggest issues through philanthropy.
Did you know that students know the issues facing youth three years before adults? YouthRoots taps into the unique perspective, passion, and skillset that youth bring to the world by empowering them to become engaged citizens now.
We use a 3-step philanthropic process intertwined with a robust leadership curriculum to teach teens the skills to make an impact.
1) Community Needs Assessment
2) Raise Awareness and Funding
3) Grant-making
YouthRoots also partners with other organizations (typically community foundations) to help communities launch their own youth philanthropy programs. Through these partnerships, communities are able to engage young people in philanthropy easily and effectively without having to build a program from scratch. Contact us for more info.
Youth are not only the future, they are the present. Young people should be part of the conversation on how funding is spent to best impact youth issues.
Youth giving to youth-serving organizations.
Youth participants learn how to fundraise as part of the program and raise 100% of the funds they grant away from outside sources.
