About our group
Cardell Dance Theater creates performances to critically explore questions about the value of bodies and how dance can challenge the status quo through movement.
Reflecting on how Anthropocentrism interprets non-human pain meaningless, we explore how environmental destruction deeply connects to human oppression.
Our mission is audiences to engage in dialogue and to creative projects for a more equitable, compassionate, and sustainable world.
Re-imagining forces that affect bodies in everyday life, Cardell Dance examines social justice themes such as environmental racism, human displacement, and the bio-politics of disposable, exploitable bodies — women, immigrants, and nonhuman animals.
