Teaching Artist Project (TAP)

TAP Cohort is a network of Arts in Education organizations collaborating on a series of Teaching Artist professional development seminars and internships as a part of Community-Word Project’s Teaching Artist Project. These seminars and workshops are available to Teaching Artists, currently working at a Cohort member organization.

The TAP Cohort is dedicated to expanding and enhancing the Teaching Artist field, by providing quality and effective professional development seminars, workshops and internships through collective impact. The Cohort believes that by working together, we can provide our Teaching Artists with a comprehensive and diverse range of skills, to improve the arts in education field and better serve our constituency.

Founded in 1977, Marquis Studios is a multi-disciplinary arts education organization with a staff of over 80 teaching artists and over 40 years of experience bringing arts education to students in New York City's public schools. Through an average of 450 residencies in 150 schools around the City annually, Marquis Studios directly serves 40,000 children each year. As the Kennedy Center VSA NY Affiliate organization, more than half of our grant funded programs serve classrooms containing students with disabilities.
