Why I joined Women Igniting Change in Kentuckiana (WICK)
I moved to Louisville with my then new husband, at the time we relocated from ATL in order to have my stepdaughter (adored!) 50%. The timing was just before the pandemic, so I've felt very socially isolated; especially regarding a network of professional women like myself. This is further deepened as I work remotely and had a baby in Aug 2021. I'm looking to make friends with professional women whilst working together to better our community. My professional background is all about clinical healthcare; specifically: pediatric hematology/oncology complex clinical trials. I currently work for an amazing biotech, but have paid my professional dues at top ranked pediatric hospitals around the country (Philly, ATL), CROs and big pharma. Personally, I'm quickly pushing 40 (unclear yet if I should be delighted vs. terrified, ha). I have a 10 year old stepdaughter and a 19 month old baby (ok, fine - she's technically a toddler but, in the always iconic words of Mariah Carey, she'll always be MY baby!). As alluded to in my intro above, I'm anxious to expand my social and professional networks here in Louisville. I'm always down to attend events, volunteer, coffee or cocktails 1:1s - whatever. I'm also a pretty dedicated (albeit tragically middle aged) power walker, so if anyone is down for a brisk walk and talk, let's do it. I live and work from home in the Highlands (Belknap) and would love to get out more. I look forward to meeting, mingling and making a difference in the unique city that is Louisville with all of these notable members. Feel free to connect/reach out!
