Why I joined Women Fighting for Women's Rights
I'm fairly new to the El Dorado Hills/Sacramento Area and have just started a new career in Real Estate. I previously was in the insurance industry for 34 years, owning my own agency and office building in the Bay Area from 1996 to 2021. As a small business owner and a woman in male dominated field since 1986, I have experienced every aspect of discrimination and me too situations because I was a woman. My experiences have driven me to always support and lift up women to help them believe in themselves and everything they are capable of. While in the Bay Area, I was help create a group that supported woman in insurance. I also volunteered time and fund raising for supporting women in transitional sheltering from abusive situations, helping to mentor them into re-entering the workforce and building their confidence. I want to be involved in an organization that is about helping support women and our rights as humans.
