The International Rescue Committee’s Center for Economic Opportunity (CEO) is a non-profit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) that provides financial training and helps borrowers build assets, capitalize on opportunities, and transition into the financial mainstream. Operating out of IRC offices across the United States, CEO works with low-income clients who are immigrants as well as members from their host communities. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, CEO established a cash grant assistance program that will be available to over 700 entrepreneurs and clients who are struggling through the current economic downturn, and to new beneficiaries impacted by the crisis.

Jusoor is an NGO of Syrian expatriates supporting the country’s development and helping Syrian youth realize their potential through programs in the fields of education, career development, and global community engagement. Jusoor’s Entrepreneurship Program aims to create a strong collaborative community for Syrian entrepreneurs to learn from successful businesses, peers and role models. We want to highlight the challenges for start-ups and help guide entrepreneurs through their business development with mentorships, bootcamp program and funding. With its Entrepreneurship Program, Jusoor aims to bring all available resources together, organise them and make them available and accessible to young aspiring entrepreneurs. Jusoor’s response to the pandemic is focused on helping clients to transition to digital operations and remote management, e.g. online meetings and sales as well as digital bookkeeping.
