About the Los Angeles Giving Circle

Learn more about our Giving Circle and then consider joining us.

We envision a world where all women and girls in Los Angeles have access to programs and support that help them reach their full potential.

The LAGC is a local grassroots non-profit that supports organizations that help underserved women and girls achieve self-sufficient sustainable lives, so that the vicious cycle of inequity can be broken once and for all.

Every year, the Los Angeles Giving Circle delivers grants to nonprofits in the greater Los Angeles area that support our vision, mission and values.

These are the values that are foundational to the work that we do for the women and girls of LA County:

Service: The LAGC helps improve the lives of under-served women and girls in Los Angeles through direct engagement grant-making to organizations that promote financial independence/self-sufficiency.

Accountability: The LAGC is accountable to our partner grantees and the women and girls they serve, as well as to our members, to ensure their donations of time and money are used responsibly as represented by our well-defined, inclusive and thoroughly tested processes.

Commitment: The LAGC is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of the women and girls in underserved LA communities through direct engagement in the granting process, including generous donations and active volunteerism.

Impact: The LAGC supports organizations that have life-changing positive impact on the women and girls served. Examples include: a young girl receives mentorship that helps her to go to college; a woman in domestic violence receives support to become financially independent; an after-school program spikes a young girl’s interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM); a single-mom is given hands-on skills to achieve a living wage.

Connection: The LAGC cultivates meaningful connections amongst its members, creating bonds and friendships based on shared passion for philanthropy and making a difference. We also nurture connections with our grantees that go beyond financial support during the granting period, so that we can provide help whenever and however it is needed.
