A States Project Giving Circle
About our group
Welcome to State Blue Action! We have joined The States Project in its goal to protect democracy from the far right by targeting legislative races that can turn state legislatures from red to blue and maintain the blue majorities in those states where the margins are slim. Despite our efforts, the outcome of the November 2024 election was a deep disappointment. Yet candidates in those state legislative races supported by The States Project fared several percentage points better than the Democratic national ticket.
The success of The States Project in 2025 is evidence that we have begun the long road to reclaim our democracy from those who are setting out to destroy the American Dream. In 2025, State Blue Action supported a special election in Pennsylvania for an open House seat and helped retain the slim Democratic majority in the PA House. We then raised money for the Virginia state legislative campaigns. We helped flip 13 seats from red to blue including 7 that had been held by the far right for over 40 years!
Donations to state legislative campaigns can have an impact at a fraction of the cost of congressional campaigns. It costs less to change the balance of power in a state chamber than it does to win one competitive congressional race! Donations to national PACs are spread among many campaigns. Sometimes the funds are not even used. Your donation to our Giving Circle will go directly to the campaigns in the states we target.
2026 is a critical year for the future of our democracy. State Blue Action members and donors have voted to have The States Project direct our funds where they are needed the most. Whether it is trying for a Democratic trifecta in Michigan and Wisconsin, preventing a rightwing supermajority in North Carolina, protecting the Democratic majority in the Pennsylvania House, or the goals in other states, all deserve our support. In addition, The States Project will also announce additional states it is targeting over the next few months.
Our members span the country from coast to coast. We are committed to protecting our democracy and making our voices heard. We are one of over several hundred Giving Circles supporting The States Project. Together we will make a difference. Join us in the effort.
