About our group
Ignite stands in solidarity with women’s groups around the world as they work to build the life they want for themselves and their communities. We are a giving circle that pools our financial resources to fuel the inspiring activities and visions of these groups - called Self Help Groups - who meet every week to save, start business activities and support each other.
Humans have gathered to cook, eat, storytell, care and dream for millennia. Gathering in groups ignites a spark: as we meet, we build hope for ourselves and our communities. With the power of hope in our hands, we collectively design and create the change we want to see.
Ignite members exchange hope, meaning and resources, because we know that we are all in this together. Wherever we are, we are connected by the ritual we are performing, seated in groups and circles of our own and caring for ourselves and each other through the best times, the worst times, and everything in between.

In 2023, we are standing with Self Help Groups in Kampala, Uganda as they work in their communities to dismantle poverty from the inside out.
We are pooling funds to support activities like:
$10/month for one young adult to go through entrepreneurship training.
$40/month for a group of women living with disabilities to start an SHG.
$75/month for 5 adolescent girls to be part of a safe space so they can heal, support each other and learn skills to start small businesses.
