Why I joined Women in Tech for Gender Equality
Women in Tech for Gender Equality is such a wonderful concept. Bringing women together for a positive impact is just what I was looking for. I started my technology career in 1977. You could say I was a pioneer as I was the first woman in my company to work in "Data Processing" and the only woman for many years working in the data center. As I grew in my career I focused on hiring and advocating for women and assuring equality in opportunity and salary. It took the diligence and sometimes. even arguing. It was 2005 before I had a female peer. It was then I understood all that I was missing. She is still my closest friend today. When women advocate for women great things will happen.

Why I joined Women in Tech for Gender Equality
I’ve come to understand I have a responsibility backed by a passion to support my sisters in IT. My history of starting my career in IT Infra when there weren’t women in the discipline gives me a unique perspective and lessons to share.
