Why I joined Plano Women for Good
Hi everyone!
I’m Kristen and I am so excited to get to know each of you :). I’ve lived in Plano since the beginning of time… 1988 (ha ha!) I have a beautiful daughter, Madeline, who is attending college at Stetson University. Also, a gorgeous Harlequin Great Dane named Zoe whom I call a “supermodel” (bc it makes her smile, lol!)
I am an independent insurance agent and spend most of my time in the community educating seniors on the ins and outs of Medicare (it’s surprisingly, very confusing)! I am also an expert on government programs (Medicaid, Medicare, SSI, SNAP, etc) and often facilitate enrollments for the homeless and low income populations.
I joined Plano Women for Good because I love taking part in initiatives that impact positive change in our community. I especially like to stay on the forefront of efforts to end poverty and homelessness. I also enjoy assisting victims of disaster. Last year, I donated over 1000 hours to the American Red Cross as leader of the Disaster Action Team in North Texas. Currently, most of my efforts are geared towards large-scale Disaster Relief Operations. I get called in to act as housing and local non-profit liason to the team of caseworkers.
I can’t wait to learn more about each of you and look forward to starting this new journey :)
