About our group
We are working with The States Project to elect majority-making candidates who will shift the balance of power in a state legislature; specifically Michigan. The battlegrounds for today's political culture wars are happening deep in states' legislature where bills are being drafted to ban all abortions, punish teachers for using the word gay, restrict voting rights, and so much more. While federal laws need to change to align with the majority of Americans on these social issues, state legislatures continue to gerrymander and pass laws restricting voting rights in order to control federal seats and legislation (and while both parties germander the data is clear that the current system unfairly favors Republicans).
When Roe is overturned, Michigan will revert to a 1931 law that bans abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest and would restrict the sale of pharmaceutical abortion pills including Plan B. Help us elect blue candidates in the Michigan state legislature like Mallory McMorrow, in an effort to pass state laws protecting human rights, protect voting rights, and rebalance distinct lines for more fair federal elections.
