A States Project Giving Circle
About our group
The Potluck and Politics Giving Circle supports The States Project.org which works to change the balance of power in state legislatures, where relatively small amounts of money can shift power to yield rapid and meaningful change for people all across the country.
State legislatures are the laboratories of democracy or of autocracy. It is up to the people to decide which it will be.
In 2022, members of Potlucks and Politics helped in a wildly successful effort to change the balance of power in the Michigan state legislature. We are gratified, yet aware that the need to sustain democracy is ongoing. As someone said, "Democracy is not a spectator sport."
