About our group
Chicago African Americans in Philanthropy (CAAIP) is a membership organization committed to achieving racial equity in philanthropy by advocating for investments in Black communities and expanding Black leadership opportunities in the social sector. We are proud to serve as the local host for The Soul of Philanthropy.
The Soul of Philanthropy is a comprehensive, multimedia exhibit that reframes portraits of philanthropy. Comprising highly innovative presentations of over a dozen vignette stories and more than 50 black-and-white images, the exhibition captures philanthropic musings across generations. A robust offering of talks, panel discussions and public forums accompanies the exhibition and allows groups to explore a broad range of topics to ignite a movement of conscious philanthropy by empowering a generation of Americans to recognize their power and responsibility to give back.
Alongside the exhibit and events we are raising $250,000 between now and the close of the TSOP exhibit on April 30, 2022 that will be invested in Black-led and Black serving organizations in Chicago. Thank you for joining us to meet this goal!
