About our group

The Homer chapter of 100 Women Who Care exists to harness the generosity and leverage the scale of more than 120 women donating to the same cause at the same time. We meet four times a year for one hour. In that hour, three members make a presentation on behalf of a favorite charity on the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula. The group then votes on which of the three charities will receive our quarterly donation of $100 per member (whether the member voted for that charity or not). Individuals, houses of worship, and political campaigns are not eligible. Nor are national charities, but local branches of national charities are eligible for consideration if 100% of the funds donated will remain in the Homer area to benefit Homer area people. With currently more than 120 members, the Homer chapter of 100 Women Who Care contributes $50,000+ to our local community charities each year.
