Amanda Papa

Amanda Papa is a dancer, choreographer, and dance educator. She is currently on tour as a Judge and Master Teacher for Groove, Beyond the Stars, Breakout, Dance Xplosion and DECAdance competitions.

As a choreographer, she has been recognized by Paper Mill’s Rising Star Awards. Amanda is the Co-founder & Artistic Director of Solo Danza Dance Company. Her work has been presented at NJHS Dance Festival's "Performance Gala", "Your Move", "Bailar al Sol","Triskelion Arts", "The Tank NYC", "Nimbus Dance Works", Dance NJ's "Show Up & Dance" and "Cultural Crawl." She directed, choreographed, produced and performed in a short dance film "The Promises" which was selected and screened in NYC with JUMP/CUT Film Festival.

Amanda is an original company member, soloist and dance captain of The Dawn Lau Dance Company, which preformed throughout NY & NJ. She spent time studying, creating and performing her art in Italy, where she truly found her passion for and refined her skills as a choreographer.

She has been on the faculty at over a dozen NJ Dance studios, was an adjunct Professor at Mercer County College for 7 years, and is a Guest Teacher at Montclair State University, Kean University and Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Amanda received her BFA in Dance Performance from Montclair State University. She is also certified through Dance Educators of America and is a proud member of Dance NJ and NDEO. She began dancing at the age of 3, competing at age 8, and dancing professionally at 16. She was twice named an All-Star by the Universal Dance Association, where she first performed internationally.

As an advocate of Arts education, she too perpetually expands her own growth (she is currently training as a competitor in Smooth & Rhythm Ballroom Dance). Naturally, Amanda is in complete awe of what AOK does, and values their mission immensely.
