About our giving circle

To Join and Donate

Please click on "Join this Community" above. Once you are admitted into the group, you can set up a subscription to make routine quarterly donations prior to our scheduled meetings. Please note that the default donation is $100 per quarter. Processing fees are now shown separately for all donations. If you choose to cover the processing fee, it allows the nonprofit to receive the full amount of your donation.

Who We Are

Although we are new to the 100 Who Care Alliance, The Giving Circle of Hope has been an active giving circle in Northern Virginia since 2004. We have awarded 159 project and capacity-building grants to 66 local nonprofits and have invested more than $1.35 million in the community over the past 16 years.
In 2020, we chose to become part of the 100 Who Care Alliance, which provides a streamlined giving format for achieving our mission of contributing to small nonprofits in order to create positive change in Northern Virginia.
The Giving Circle of Hope provides members with the opportunity to engage in local philanthropy on a deeper level than they could as individuals. Each voting member commits to a $400 per year donation in quarterly installments of $100 in February, May, August and November. These funds are pooled and awarded as a grant to a local nonprofit as determined by the vote of members at each quarterly meeting.
Members have the opportunity to nominate and present any nonprofit that meets our eligibility criteria, which can be found on our website www.givingcircleofhope.org. Three nonprofits are randomly selected from those nominated to be presented at each meeting and members then vote for the nonprofit they would like to receive the funds for that quarter.
We welcome all who are interested in the power of collective giving to improve our communities, engage with our neighbors, and deliver a positive impact on long-term social problems.
