Amplify Your Impact this Giving Tuesday: Become a Grapevine Movement Builder and Get a 1:1 Match!

Here at Grapevine, we’re all about giving back. Since Grapevine launched in March 2020, we have helped direct $19 million to approximately 2,000 nonprofits across the country. We’re thrilled with the impact we’ve made, but we’re always looking for new ways to give and inspire others to give too. That’s why today, Giving Tuesday, is one of our favorite holidays! Just in case you haven’t heard of it before, here’s what Giving Tuesday is all about.

The weekend after Thanksgiving has some of the biggest shopping days of the year: Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday. With all of the shopping that people are doing for the holidays, we need to remember that giving back is important, too.

Back in 2012, New York’s 92nd Street Y partnered with the United Nations Foundation to create Giving Tuesday in an effort to encourage people to give back and remember that the holidays are about more than just consumerism. In that first year, people around the world donated about $10 million dollars to nonprofits for Giving Tuesday. The following year, it jumped to $28 million, and has only grown since then! In 2019, GivingTuesday became its own organization, encouraging people to give back and spread the word to further the cause.

While Grapevine encourages people to donate year round, Giving Tuesday can be a great time to give back and think about charitable contributions you want to make in the coming year. Grapevine celebrates Giving Tuesday annually, but this year is particularly special for us.

This Giving Tuesday is a big one for us as we launch our most ambitious way yet to amplify giving: The Grapevine Giving Foundation.

The Grapevine Giving Foundation is our new 501.c.3 public charity with a mission to support and scale the giving circle movement to democratize and diversify philanthropy. We’re doing this through the launch and support of new giving circles in cities, towns and counties across the United States to broaden the diversity of donors, causes and nonprofits represented within the movement. We plan to double the size of the giving circle movement by 2024, increasing the number of donors from 150,000 to nearly 300,000 and moving $100 million in donations from giving circles.

For Giving Tuesday, we’re matching all donations up to $10,000 so that we can make a greater impact together. We’re excited to give back in a BIG way today, but we need your help.
